Time has a way of getting away from us when we are doing something we love. And I love crafting. Sometimes I even remember to make a video and post it on You Tube on my channel. Alice Parson. I have made several videos but still remain as nervous as I can be when making my videos. As a matter of fact I get nervous posting on my blog. No wonder I have a reluctance to update. However I am going to try to remain confident in all my endeavors and slough off the anxiety as best as I can.
I have a series on You Tube with my love for Viva paper towels. I make things using the best paper towel on the market in my opinion. When Viva came out I tried it and was sold on never using the others again. There have been times when I have been visiting others and had occasion to need a paper towel and they didn't have Viva. The paper towels they've had range from other well known brand names to the cheapest of the cheap. Those cheap ones just seem to melt in my hands when I try wiping up spills or drying my hands. So i'm simply a Viva Gal for sure. I know they cost more but You can bet they are the best. I've had some left in my pants pockets that went through the washer and dryer. To my amazement they were still intact. Slightly smaller but still intact. No other paper towel can make that claim. I can even wash dishes with them. Enough rambling about paper towels on to something else....
I love visiting with my daughters and their families. I have a somewhat of a routine of going to my out of town daughter's house for several days and my local daughter's house weekly. My oldest daughter teaches school and her one hour commute puts a damper on visiting her. I love when we all get together and have a great time visiting and catching up with each other's happenings. I love watching my grandchildren playing and having a great time. There's nothing better than spending time with family, whether it's for a holiday, birthday, or just plain ole get together for the sake of being around each other and having fun as a family.
I have also found a wonderful group of ladies that I can craft and visit with through Skype. We feed off each other's creativity. There is some stunning creations of different crafts shared with each other. If you haven't tried skype yet please do as it's a great way to stay in touch with your family as well as friends. Being able to see them on your screen is almost as good as being in their presence. Grandchildren love seeing their grandparents on the computer talking to them. It's a great alternative way to stay in touch when you live far away from each other and can't visit as often as you like.
My oldest grandchild will be ten years old next week. He doesn't play with his toys much anymore and it was troubling me as to what to give him for his birthday gift. Many things went through my mind but I finally decided to give him his first tool box with tools. I found just the thing to give him that is similar to the tools he gets out of his Dad's tool box and forgets to put back. Now dad won't have to worry about having to hunt for a tool when he needs it. Since they've been working on an addition for the twins to have their own bedroom tools have been strictly off limit to my grandson. Now after his Birthday party he will have his own.
My two oldest granddaughters are turning into quite the young ladies. I am amazed at the clothing and shoes for girls their age. And to think I was in my mid-teens before I ever had a pair of shoes with a higher heel than the usual flats I wore. I'm thankful they only wear them for dress up occasions as I don't think they can be good for a young girl's feet to wear them often. Their Mother's have everything under control and I just need to let them raise their girls their way as times have indeed changed since I raised them.
Oh my goodness I am hearing THUNDER and we are expecting bad weather so it's time for me to get off here. Until next time I leave you with Just This...Alice
